Takoyakis, literally “grilled octopus”, are an Osaka specialty in the form of balls containing pieces of octopus.
Generally, takoyaki is sold in yatai stalls facing the street to be taken away or eaten outside.

Below, you'll see the first sketch I draw and some photo references that I took when I was living in Japan. A representation of an octopus clearly visible on the storefront is a way of identifying them from afar.
